The Coalition of Feminists for Social Change (COFEM) is pleased to invite you to a web-based “Knowledge Summit” – a series of online discussions held over 16 Days of Activism and led by COFEM colleagues and allies discussing issues critical to our work.  Please join us for one session, or for the whole series, and invite others!  To register in advance and get the dial-in link, contact, and connect to us on Twitter @COFEM_EVAW for regular upates!

The COFEM Knowledge Summit grew out of a desire to build more feminist space for conversations and engagement around the challenges, opportunities, and ways forward in GBV discourse, practice and advocacy.

The Knowledge Summit will be a live and interactive series of six online learning events which will be launched in November over the course of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence campaign (November 25 – December 10).

There will be six hour-long sessions led by COFEM members—they are all open to anyone who wishes to join, and will be conducted on  Zoom.

Topics and dates:

  1. Why does a feminist perspective matter in work to prevent and respond to VAWG? Nov 25 at 1pm GMT  
  2. Staying accountable to women and girls.  Nov 27 at 3pm GMT
  3. Feminist movement building. Nov 29 at 1pm GMT
  4. Why does GBV programming focus on women and girls? Dec 1 to Dec 3; 1pm to 12.30pm GMT
  5. Connecting GBV, sexual harassment and everyday sexism. Dec 5 at 10pm GMT 
  6. Feminist approaches to building knowledge and evidence on GBV. Dec 10 at 3pm GMT
