COFEM #ReflectionsFrom16Days 2019

What are our members' reflections on gender inequality in the workplace?

To honor the theme of the 2019 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, we asked members to share any brief stories or reflections on the ways in which women are affected by everyday sexism and sexual harassment in their professional lives.

Read their reflections below — as well as their suggestions on how to raise awareness on all forms of sexual harassment and gender inequality in the workplace. Their stories and reflections illustrate how critical it is to focus resources on ending sexism, sexual harassment and sexual exploitation in work environments, alongside work to end the many other forms of GBV to which women and girls are exposed throughout their lives.

Suggestions

Read suggestions from our members on what a world free from violence in the workplace would look like.

One member suggested organizations should embark on the Get Moving! Process. Get Moving! is an introspective process that brings all staff together to have personal and organization reflections, and discover ways to strengthen value driven leadership and promote positive organizational culture. The process covers ten foundational feminist topics.
